Workday · AI Spend & ROI

Every AI dollar, mapped to your Workday org chart.

AI spend hides in six places: API tokens, coding agents, gateways, cloud model calls, seats, and subscriptions. Larridin reconciles all six, joins them to your Workday org data, and measures what they buy.

Workday knows what you pay people. Larridin adds what you pay for AI, and what it returns.

  • Cost by cost center, supervisory org, and job profile
  • AI Work, AI Leverage, and Agent FTE per team
  • Read-only connector: nothing is written back to Workday

THE LARRIDIN THESIS

Spend over output equals ROI, per team, per role, per dollar.

If you can’t link spend to output, you can’t defend the budget in either direction.

CONSOLIDATE

Six sources, one spend model

API tokens, coding agents, gateways, cloud model calls, seat licenses, and subscriptions, reconciled automatically. Every agent traced to an accountable owner.

ATTRIBUTE

Your Workday hierarchy is the map

Cost by cost center, supervisory org, and job profile. The answer arrives in the language your CFO already speaks.

PROVE ROI

Output measured from real work

AI Work, AI Leverage, and Agent FTE, next to function outcomes like shipped output and lead-qual time. Not self-reports.

THE LEDGER

Spend plus org equals impact.

Six spend sources on one side, your Workday hierarchy on the other. What comes out is a number the board can act on.

WHY NOW

This bill just surprised a company that builds finance software.

Rippling went all-in on AI this year, then published what its CFO found. The numbers are one company’s, but the pattern is a preview of the conversation coming to every exec team, including the ones that run Workday.

Get your spend view

40¢

of every R&D compensation dollar was going to AI tokens at peak, on pace for 90¢ within a year.

60%

of total AI spend came from roughly 10 to 15% of employees. One engineer was burning $50K a month.

37%

July’s token bill vs. April’s, for the same ~600B tokens, once the spend was finally visible and managed.

÷

The missing half: whether any of it produced more shipped work. Spend is the numerator. Larridin owns the denominator.

VS RIPPLING AI SPEND CONSOLE

The AI spend console, for orgs that run Workday.

Rippling built one for Rippling customers. Larridin is the equivalent that joins your existing Workday org data, read-only.

HOW IT CONNECTS

Live against Workday in about a week.

Connect Workday

Read-only sync of workers, supervisory orgs, cost centers, and job profiles. Comp bands are optional, used only for cost-per-unit-of-work math. Nothing is written back.

Connect the spend

All six source types reconciled into a single spend model, automatically. No proxy to insert, no gateway migration.

The first report lands

AI Work, AI Leverage, and Agent FTE by cost center and role, next to function outcomes. Board-ready in about 7 days.

FAQ

Questions Workday customers ask us.

Does Workday track AI spend?

No. Workday knows what you pay people, not what you pay for AI. Token bills, seat licenses, and agent costs live in provider invoices and cloud consoles. Larridin brings that spend into the org structure Workday already maintains.

What Workday data does Larridin read?

Workers, supervisory orgs, cost centers, and job profiles, read-only. Comp bands are optional and used only for cost-per-unit-of-work math. Nothing is ever written back to Workday.

Is this employee surveillance?

No. Larridin measures spend and output at the team, role, and cost-center level to answer budget questions. It is not a monitoring tool and does not score individuals for performance management.

What are AI Work, AI Leverage, and Agent FTE?

AI Work is how much of shipped work is produced with AI. AI Leverage is output per AI-active person, against baseline. Agent FTE is autonomous agent capacity, in FTE terms. All three are measured from real work, by cost center and role.

Is there a Rippling AI Spend Console equivalent for Workday?

Yes. Rippling’s console maps AI spend to employee data for orgs on Rippling, and connects three vendors: Anthropic, OpenAI, and Cursor. Larridin is the equivalent for Workday orgs: six spend sources, joined to your Workday cost centers and supervisory orgs, and measured against output. No platform migration.

How fast do we get a board-ready number?

About a week. Connect Workday and your spend sources, and the first report, spend joined to org and measured against output, lands in roughly 7 days.
